Welcome to the Pennsylvania / Maryland / Virginia / DC Chapter
Incorporated in 1998 as The Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, the primary objectives of the corporation are to improve the general welfare of the profession, to improve its services to the public, to cooperate with government officials in furthering the national welfare, to encourage technical competency and achievement, to advance education and research in the profession, and to promote and maintain an organization for the advancement and welfare of the profession by all proper, suitable, and legal means.
The Maryland, Virginia, and DC Chapters joined the PA Chapter around 2008.
The Chapter plans, promotes, and sponsors an Annual Spring Conference for its members to qualify for continuing education credits required by national credentialing organizations and to fulfill PA State Licensure requirements.
