Welcome to the Pennsylvania / Maryland / Virginia / DC Chapter

Incorporated in 1998 as The Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, the primary objectives of the corporation are to improve the general welfare to the profession, to improve its services to the public, to cooperate with government officials in furthering the national welfare, to encourage technical competency and achievement, to advance  education and research in the profession, and to promote and maintain an organization for the advancement and welfare of the profession by all proper, suitable, and legal means.

The Maryland, Virginia, and DC Chapters joined the PA Chapter around 2008.

The Chapter plans, promotes, and sponsors an Annual Spring Conference for its members to qualify for continuing education credits required by national credentialing organizations and to fulfill PA State Licensure requirements.

The Spring Conference has been Canceled.

The annual Spring Conference has been canceled this year due to the uncertainty of the lingering effects of the Coronavirus Pandemic.  After some deliberation with the Board, we felt that attempting to reschedule the conference for later this year was too much of a gamble.  We do plan on having the conference in 2021.

We do realize many practitioners rely on this meeting to obtain their required credits for both State Licensure and national certifications.  Because of the current situation, many manufacturers are offering free continuing education credits online.  Take this down time as on opportunity to receive some of these credits.
